ReqIF (Requirements Interchange Format)
OMG standard XML format for exchanging requirements between tools. The de facto interchange between Jama, Polarion, codeBeamer, DOORS, and any other compliant requirements management tool. ReqIF preserves hierarchy, categories, attributes, and links.
Why It Matters
Most safety-regulated industries use a commercial requirements tool (Polarion, Jama, DOORS). ReqIF is how teams move requirements between tools without losing fidelity, and how external tools — like Roboticks — can ingest and export requirements round-trip-clean.
How Roboticks Implements It
Drop a .reqif file into the dashboard or trigger via S3-PUT. The reqif_parser_service ingests round-trip-clean (categories, types, hierarchy, attributes preserved). Export back to ReqIF at release time with coverage status written into attributes. Tested against real exports from Polarion, Jama Connect, codeBeamer, DOORS Next.
